Marcin Dorociński

Marcin is one of Poland’s most talented, popular, and successful actors of his

generation. He was born in Milanowek near Warsaw. As a child, he dreamt of

becoming a professional football player, but unfortunately his promising early

career was cut short when he suffered a severe leg injury. He decided to enroll in

The Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy, and following his graduation,

he performed in many theatre productions including: THE TAMING OF THE

SHREW, which was directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski, and PLATONIV by Pawel

Miskiewicz. On screen, Marcin gained critical acclaim in the early 2000’s,

culminating in the Zbyszek Cybulski's Award for Best Young Polish Actor in 2005.

He has worked across both Polish and English-language projects and his notable

previous roles include: as ‘Ladislav’ opposite Cillian Murphy in the feature film

ANTHROPOID; ‘Despero’ in the Polish hit film PITBULL; the title role in JACK

STRONG; the Polish version of the drama series IN TREATMENT; the war drama

ROSE, Ole Bornedal’s SMALL TOWN KILLERS, and the WW2 war drama MISSION

OF HONOUR, which was directed by David Blair. Marcin won huge praise for his

portrayal of 'Piotr Grodecki' in the HBO crime drama series PAKT. Most recently,

he played the key role of ‘Vasily Borgov’ in the hugely successful Cold War drama

mini-series THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT, which won multiple Emmy Awards, and which

was directed by two-time Oscar nominee Scott Frank. Marcin can currently be

seen in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING. Written and directed by

Christopher McQuarrie, it is the seventh installment of the spy thriller franchise. He

can next be seen opposite Ryan Reynolds in the action feature MAYDAY.
