Stéphane Bak

Stéphane began his career as a comedian in Paris, producing his own shows in small theatres before moving on to such venues as Le Palace, Le Grand Rex, and the Casino de Paris. In 2013, he made his screen debut with the French hit comedies “Les Gamins” by Anthony Marciano, and “Les Profs”. Since then he’s gone on to performing more dramatic roles in films such as Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar’s “Once in a Lifetime”; Christophe Barratier’s “Team Spirit”; David Moreau’s “Alone”; and as ‘Omar’ opposite Isabelle Huppert in Paul Verhoeven’s award-winning film “Elle”. In 2017, Stéphane was chosen as a TIFF Rising Star at the Toronto International Film Festival. Recent work includes the leading role of ‘William’ opposite Fionn Whitehead in Sebastian Schipper’s comedic adventure film “Roads”; Joël Karekezi’s “The Mercy of the Jungle”; and the role of ‘Bilal’ in André Téchiné’s “Farewell to the Night” which premiered at this year’s Berlinale. Stéphane has also recently completed filming on acclaimed writer/director Wes Anderson’s next feature film “The French Dispatch”.
