Aïssa Maïga

Aïssa Maïga is an award-winning French actress, born in Dakar, Senegal. She is the first French actress of African descent to have been nominated for a French Academy Award (César) for her performance as ‘Melé’ in Abderrahamane Sissako's “Bamako”. She has worked with a number of internationally renowned directors, including with Michel Gondry in “Mood Indigo”, and Michael Haneke in “Code Unknown” and “Caché”. Aïssa will soon appear in the role of ‘Abeni’ in “Taken Down”, an Irish television drama series for RTE, directed by David Caffrey, and as ‘Claude’ in a French feature film, “Mon frère”, which is directed by Julien Abraham.
