Mara Bugarin

Mara Bugarin is a Romanian film and theatre actor, who was born in 2001 in Timisoara, Romania. She graduated from the German High School in 2020, and next year she will complete her studies at the National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography. Mara played the leading role of ‘Ana Stefan’ opposite Vlad Ivanov in Alexandru Belc’s feature film METRONOM, which premiered in Un Certain Regard at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and which won the director’s prize there. Mara also played the part of ‘Alice’ in the television series EXPORT ONLY, which was directed by Cristina Iliescu. She is a frequent collaborator with the German Theatre in Timisoara, and since 2012 she has performed in plays with SAS Theatre in Bucharest. Next year, Mara will star in two major new productions in Romania.
