Mišel Matičević
Mišel was born in West Berlin to a family of Croatian migrant workers. He grew up in the district of Gropiusstadt and attended the Regenweiher primary school there, becoming a German citizen at the age of 16. He studied at the Konrad Wolf Academy of Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 1994 to 1998. From there, he performed on stage with the Berliner Ensemble; the Deutsches Theater Berlin; and the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt among others. Since 1996, Mišel has worked extensively on screen in projects such as: LOST KILLERS; TATORT; HOTTE IM PARADIES; SEHNSUCHT; ZODIAC; HANGTIME and KALTER FRÜHLING. In 2006, he played a Hungarian poet and leader of the Hungarian National Uprising of 1956 in the international production THE COMPANY. He took on further leading roles in: EINE STADT WIRD ERPRESSST, and the film adaptation of Frank Schätzing's novel DIE DUNKLE SEITE. In 2008, Mišel filmed for the fifth time under the direction of Dominik Graf in the ten-part family drama IM ANGESICHT DES VERBRECHENS. He also appeared in the remake of EFFI BRIEST alongside Julia Jentsch and Sebastian Koch. His most recent credits include: playing the role of ‘Edgar Kasabian’ in BABYLON BERLIN; the series ICH BIN DAGOBERT; and as ‘Trojan’ in the thriller SCORCHED EARTH, directed by Thomas Arslan.
