Paula Beer

German actress Paula Beer‘s career began at age 14, when she was cast as ‘Oda von Siering’ in Chris Kraus’ highly acclaimed drama “The Poll Diaries” - which led to the young actress winning the Bavarian Film Prize for her outstanding performance in it. Other roles quickly followed, including the period drama “Ludwig II” by Peter Sehr and Marie Noelle; “4 Kings” by Theresa von Eltz; the film adaptation of the book “The Taste of Apple Seeds” by Vivian Naefe; and the television adaptation of the bestseller “Pampa Blues”. Paula won the Best Young Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival for her performance as ‘Anna’ in renowned French director and author, François Ozon’s “Frantz”. Recent work includes the role of ‘Marie’ in Christian Petzold’s critically-acclaimed dystopian drama “Transit”; starred as ‘Ellie Seeband’ in Germany’s Oscar-nominated film “Never Look Away” by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck; “The Wolf’s Call” directed by Antonin Baudry; and the recurring leading role of ‘Jana Liekam’ in the hit television series “Bad Banks”.
