Yuriy Borisov

Yuriy is a Russian actor, who was born in Moscow. From a young age he knew he wanted to pursue acting, and so following school he immediately enrolled in the renowned Shchepkin Theatre Institute. During his first year of studies there, he began to secure his first Film & TV work - and since then has worked steadily in film & television in wide-ranging projects. Notable onscreen roles include: the leading role in ‘Alik’ in Darya Zhuk’s award-winning CRYSTAL SWAN; in Aleksey Sidorov’s World War 2 drama T-34; as ‘Alex’ in SILVER SKATES directed by Michael Lockskin; and ‘Vanya’ in Fedor Bondarchuk’s epic Sci-Fi feature film INVASION. Most recently, Yuriy recieved widespread critic acclaim for his lead performance as criminal gang leader Anton Bykov in THE BULL, which won the East of the West award at Karlovy Vary. He also portrayed inventor Mikhail Kalashnikov in the biopic AK-47 (KALASHNIKOV). Upcoming projects include the relationship drama ANYBODY SEE MY GIRL?; and the feature film GERDA by Natalya Kudryashova. Yuriy starred in two feature films which were in competition for the Palme D’Or at Cannes Film Festival - PETROV’S FLU directed by the celebrated Russian director of stage and screen, Kirill Serebrennikov; and COMPARTMENT NO.6 by Finnish Director Juho Kuosmanen.
