Ana Geislerová

Czech star Ana Geislerová has won a remarkable 5 Golden Lion Awards in a

career spanning over 50 films and is perhaps best known to international

audiences for her performance as ‘Lenka’ opposite Cillian Murphy in the film,

ANTHROPOID. A former Shooting Star, Aná has been acting since the age of

14 and is also known for her roles as ‘Marcella’ in BEAUTY IN TROUBLE; and

‘Lida’ in INNOCENCE. Her numerous acting credits include: Academy Award

winner Jan Svěrák’s JIZDA in 1994; as well as Ondřej Trojan’s ZELARY, which

was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Her

other notable work includes: the role of ‘Rathe’ in THE CATCHER WAS A SPY

opposite Guy Pearce, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival; AMNESTY

by Jonás Karásek; the television mini-series thriller THE SLEEPERS; as ‘Olga

Havlová’ in the biopic feature film HAVEL, which was written and directed by

Slávek Horák; the role of ‘Daniela Hegerova’ in THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE;

as ‘Anna’ in Sasa Gedeon’ THE IDIOT RETURNS; HONEYMOON; AMNESTIE

directed by Jonás Karásek; and HEL by Kinga Debska. More recently, Ana

played the role of ‘Dr. Polina Lavotchkin’ in the ITV remake of the classic 60’s

thriller THE IPCRESS FILE, which was directed by James Watkins. She also

played the part of ‘Kristina’ in the feature film THE CHAMBERMAID, directed

by Mariana Cengel-Solcanská; and ‘Pawla Langová’ in the film WHIRLWIND.
