In 2019, Helena starred in Nora Fingscheidt’s debut drama film SYSTEM CRASHER, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival. She played the lead role of ‘Benni’, which earned her a German Film Award for her unforgettable performance, and a European Film Award nomination for Best Actress. The film had 10 nominations going into the German Film Awards and came away with 8 Lola’s, including “Best Feature Film”. SYSTEM CRASHER was chosen as Germany’s entry for the international feature film category at the 92nd Oscars. Since then, Helena has become a fast-rising star internationally. She is perhaps best known to US audiences for her performance as ‘Johanna’ opposite Tom Hanks in Paul Greengrass’ Western film, NEWS OF THE WORLD, which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination; a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination; and a Critics’ Choice Award nomination. Helena was recently included on Variety’s coveted Ten Actors to Watch List, and the Hollywood Reporter’s Ten European Talents to Watch List.
