Kristoffer Joner
Kristoffer is a highly acclaimed Norwegian actor known for his intense screen presence, emotional depth, and versatility across film, television, and theatre. He began acting at a young age, joining Rogaland Teater around age 14 and staying involved into his early twenties. At 17, he traveled to Sweden to join a free theatre group, touring Europe. He gained national recognition in Norway with the 1996 NRK drama series OFFSHORE, which marked his breakthrough and led to his film debut soon after. Throughout the 2000s, Kristoffer became a central figure in modern Norwegian cinema, starring in notable films such as MONGOLAND, NEXT DOOR, KING OF DEVIL’S ISLAND, HIDDEN, WAR SAILOR, and THE WAVE, directed by Roar Uthaug. He also appeared in the Oscar-winning film THE REVENANT directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, and the action blockbuster MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT, directed by Christopher McQuarrie. His latest feature, Nina Knag’s DON’T CALL ME MAMA, competed for the Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Kristoffer is known for his emotional realism, vulnerability, and intensity in his performances. He has been honored multiple times with Norway’s highest film award, the Amanda Award—for roles in films including NEXT DOOR, THE ORHEIM COMPANY, and HJERTESTART. He is regarded as one of Norway’s most distinctive and respected performers.
