Oleg Zagorodnii

Oleg was born in Ukraine. He studied drama at the National I. K.  Karpenko-Kary University in Kiev, and after completing his training there he worked extensively at the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama. In 2012, Oleg decided to move to Russia, where he began to work as an actor at the acclaimed Gogol Center in Moscow, and his performances there include: “Brothers” by Mikhail Durnenkov, which is based upon Luchino Visconti’s “Rocco and his Brothers”, and “Ozero” by Mikhail Durnenkov. On screen, Oleg has starred in Ukrainian and Russian television shows and films such as: “Dzhamayka” written by Tatyana Gnedash; “Kiss” by director Oleg Maslennikov; “Kto ty?” by director Anatoliy Mateshko; and as ‘Dima Kolesnikov’ in the Ukrainian crime drama “Oboroten v pogonakh”. In 2018, Oleg was cast in the leading role of ‘Lieutenant Roman Matveev’ in the cold war feature film “Firebird”, which is directed by Peeter Rebane, and co-stars Diana Pozharskaya and Tom Prior, and which is set to be released internationally in 2020.
