Tarek Zayat
Tarek is a Danish actor born and raised in Copenhagen. He made his professional debut in 2020, starring as ‘Amos’ in ENFORCEMENT (SHORTA), directed by Anders Olholm and Frederik Louis Hviid. The film had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and went on to win the FIPRESCI Prize and Best Director Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, where the jury praised its urgent depiction of stigma, hatred, police violence, inequality, and systemic racism. Since then, Tarek has played a wide range of roles across film and television. His credits include BOYS, ALWAYS BE CLOSING, CROSSING LINES, and SECOND VICTIMS. In 2025, he starred as ‘Amir’ in DON’T CALL ME MAMA which was directed by Nina Knag, and which had its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, competing in the Crystal Globe Competition. With a Master’s degree in Law and the lived experience of growing up in Copenhagen’s urban housing projects, Tarek combines intellectual discipline with raw authenticity, lending depth, versatility, and emotional resonance to his performances.
